"Ice cream Sooooocial"

Michael's long awaited ice cream social took place today. Unfortunately I was a little under the weather, so my mom had to take him for me. She said that he had the time of his life and she practically had to drag him out of there! Hopefully the same goes for his first day of school on Thursday! We are optimistic because Noah and Mason will be in his little class. Keep your fingers crossed for us:)

After being the proud owner for this tricycle since Christmas, Michael finally has the skills to cruise down the street.

Smachos

We had some friends over for the fight last Saturday. I wish I took more pictures of the night, but am thrilled that I got this gem. This is Jordan making "Smachos." Correct me if I'm wrong Jordan, but I believe its a cross between smores and nachos.

I'm Shocked

The other night Michael was up way past his bed time so he was acting a little goofy. I started taking pictures of him and showing him the results and he couldn't stop laughing. Then he started making really "shocked" faces every time so I couldn't stop laughing. Here is the progression.

I guess you had to be there.

"Big Bath"

Last Friday we had a lot of time to kill before Michael's bed time, so I went against everything Mike and I said we wouldn't do, and put Michael in our bathtub. We didn't want to give him a taste of it, because we knew it would be all we would here about. Well surprise, surprise, he loved it. When I give him an option for a bath or shower at night, he always says, "big bath," so we made a deal that he could only go in the big bath on Saturdays. Yesterday he countered and said, "No, Wednesdays". How he knew it was Wednesday, I don't know.

Michael loved it from the get go.
He brought his train in

and gave it a shower.

He washed his own hair.

Then smiled for the camera,

and practiced swimming.

Then I put the fun to a screeching halt because he started dropping his train and splashing everything around him, including me.

My "Monica's Closet"

As many of you know, I have a really hard time keeping my car clean. I can keep everything else in my life clean, but for some reason I have the hardest time keeping my car tidy. Last week Michael and I picked up my mom for lunch, and she was disgusted. She actually considered not riding in my car because of its horrible condition (I'm spilling my guts here people, don't judge). She informed me that we were going to take my car through the car wash and vacuum and clean the whole thing... after lunch of course.

What was I doing you ask? Well, I was busy drinking my coffee and taking pictures of this monumental event.

Where was Michael? Playing in the back of Mimi's car of course.

P.S. Thanks mom, my car has never looked better and I promise I am keeping it clean!

We've Been Busy

The Welch's have been pretty busy this last week. Here is what we have been up to!

We escaped the heat wave and squatted at my parent's air conditioned house for 3 days only to return home for clean clothes when needed.

Mike and I have been obsessed with Lost. We look forward to our Netflix DVDs to arrive so we can see what happens next. We are currently at the tail end of season 2.
Michael is continuing his streak of sleeping in strange places,

he went poop in the potty today (I think by accident, but its still pretty exciting),

and he is now pumping iron.
