Wowzers. A lot has happened in our little garden since last month.
Garden early July
Garden mid June
Holy smokes! You see what I mean?
It still amazes me that most of this started from a little seed.
I know I said I was going to wait to post until the tepee filled in, but
I'm thinking we are at the end of our pole peas and the lettuce could be bolting soon if our hot streak continues, so I wanted to get a shot of the garden in all of its glory before I start pulling things out.
A side shot of our pole peas (sugar snap).
I have read that the peas leave behind nitrogen in the soil, so you should replace them with vegetables that need a lot of nitrogen to grow. Some examples are cucumbers, squash, and tomatoes. I am thinking that I am going to plant some squash in its place which you can train to grow up the trellis.
Four different types of lettuce.
We aren't big salad people, so we have been using this in sandwiches, on tacos and in burgers.
Carrots.
The bush pea pods are starting to fill!
I am getting excited to shell these with Michael.
Michael's cabbage came under attack from slugs early in the season, but it didn't affect it's growth.
It's raining peas (for now).
I planted some sweat peas next to the pole beans to add color and I can't believe how good they smell.
Tiny peppers are starting to grow.
My absolute favorite part of having this garden is how much Michael has learned from it.
Plant, water, grow.
It's so simple but when you think about it, a hand full of tiny seeds can feed a small family for months. How cool is that?
Have a great week!

I'm so impressed...and jealous! You did such a good job with the garden this year. I can't believe how much it has grown. :)
I am so jealous! I love your garden. We have harvested lots of peas, 4 zucchini-not to self, one zucchini plant next year, not two-, green onion, some lettuce. Yours looks amazing. Been meaning to email you but between my girls birthdays....my god, I am exhausted! Be proud!
Ps we have two little green peppers that look identical to your photo....so cute! I am shocked they are producing with our lack of heat!
