We were the lucky recipients of a Beaba Babycook baby food maker from our dear friends Ralph and Lib when Colin was born. I brought it out for the first time today to test it out. I have to say it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I even misplaced the directions, and managed to pull off my first batch of baby food!

Grab a Winter Squash (this is supposed to be an ideal first food.) In this case I chose an Acorn Squash.
Cut and add to the steamer.

Steam.

Check on the baby, this is going to take awhile.

Its, done! Now its time to blend.

Like so.

You may want to add some of the steamed water to thin out.

Store and Freeze for later.

Keep some out to test though!

Interesting.

Not bad. I think I like it.

Yep, I defiantly like it.

All done!

So to make a loooong story short. I love the Babycook! Its super easy and the squash tasted great (I didn't take Colin's word for it, I tried it myself!)
Thanks again Ralph and Lib!

Hi - Heidi Stalker here:-) I just wanted to tell you that I love love love my beaba (it ranks as one of my mom must-haves)and still use it almost daily for Hayden (squash, sweet potatoes, carrots - obviously not pureed anymore). It is addicting. One tip I got was to steam all food with skin on - it is a million times easier to get the skin off afterward...god knows how long it takes to skin an acorn squash:-) Happy Cooking!! Darling boys!
Ooh thanks for the tip Heidi. Im not going to lie, it did take awhile:) I've been keeping up on your girls too! Caroline is such a cuttie (of course Hayden is too!) Glad to hear that you are still using the steamer, I didnt think about just using it to steam for the older kids!
Thanks for posting this! I just love it that you like this! Colin looks like the happiest baby - just a cutie! You have two great boys!
This is cool. Although I am glad to have narrowly escaped owning another must-have baby appliance. If we bring another baby into this house someday, may have to borrow yours! :) Sarah, you and Heidi have so much in common. Glad to be the middle friend...should get you guys together sometime!
Liz- As soon as you need to borrow it, its yours! Oh, and I would love to get together with you guys sometime!
