We started out taking up only one block surrounding the building. Within an hour we had to spread out to cover two blocks because our numbers were so large.
It was awesome.
There were even a few supporters in the building. Shhhh, don't tell anyone.
Longshoremen are no joke.
There were dozens of students who walked with us.
They even made up cheers.
You can't tell from this picture, but a high school band was set up behind the picketers. It was my favorite part of the line (as in picket line... I'm really picking up some lingo out there.)
Lots of interesting signs. There was even a man walking around with a ball and chain. Wish I would have gotten a picture of that one.
If you are curious, here is a link to the current contract proposals. Also for any of you who are worried about my rap sheet, the judge didn't issue any sanctions against teachers today.
