That's what I was going to have the uber-talented Liz McDougall make me.
Then after cuddling up with the 30 + year old quilt we stole from my parents I decided to put the pillows on hold and see if she could make us our very own custom quilt.
I knew she could do it.
She can do anything.
Literally.
I always say that when I grow up I want to be like Liz even though we are pretty much the same age.
She makes pillows, blankets, drapes, veils, and burp cloths. She can build sheds and fences. She tiles, paints, installs woodwork and can repair toilets. She grinds her own meat and can probably whip together a 5 course meal without running to the store.
I'm going to stop before Mike starts wondering what my problem is.
What I'm basically trying to say is I knew the quilt wouldn't be a stretch for her.
And it wasn't.
I picked up this beauty yesterday.
Michael loves it and has been begging to take it up to his room (along with the rest of the house).
Colin loves it too.
I'm picturing many nights curled up as a family with this quilt.
Thank you Liz for taking the time to make this for our family.
It means the world to us
.
.
Looking forward to passing it on in 30 + years or so.
Oh, and I still need some pillows and Mike thinks we will need a few more quilts:)

Liz is amazing. Looks awesome.
Love it!!!
What a wonderful quilt!! What is it backed with -- chenille or terry?? Looks so cozy!
Thanks!
Ummm, I think it's chenille. I know it's not terry:)
It is very cozy!
I want to be like Liz when I grow up too. :) The quilt is gorgeous! I love it.
I am so glad you have met liz and have been the recipient of one of her many talents. Isn't she the BEST? Hayden's crib duvet is via Liz and is darling...this quilt is to-die-for. The three of us must meet for a wine night.
Heidi- Wine night ASAP! Seriously.
