Normal Day

On those days when I wake up and cant get my first cup of coffee any faster, when the washer and dryer doesn't seem to stop, when the dishes are piled up, the house is a mess, I cant seem to put Colin down for more than a few minutes and Michael is running around refusing to get dressed and playing with my breast pump accessories I try to remember this quote I came across recently...

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, savour you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it will not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky, and want, more than all the world, your return.

Sarah, hope you're always able to keep this perspective...and rub off on me somehow. :)
